On Saturday the 22nd March here in India the Holy Fest, also called the Festival of Colours, has been celebrated. It is a popular Hindu spring festival observed in India and Nepal. In the morning all the streets of Delhi were decorate and ready for the fest. It started at about 10 am, but at that time we were sleeping like a dormouse. We got up at about 11.30 because a very loudly music came inside our flat. There is a little field in front of our apartment and for the Holy Fest it was full of people that were dancing, made jokes and cooked some stuff to eat. We forgot: all were painted all the body in unbelievable awesome colours. At midday we decided to went out but first we changed our clothes. As soon as we went outside, many Indian guys thrown us water buckets and colour powder. In less that 2 minutes we were totally coloured from the head to our feet. We enjoyed very much even if we needed 8 showers to wash out our body from the colour… that’s India!

Significance of Different Colors:

Red - Purity
Green - Vitality
Blue - Calm and sedateness
Yellow - Pious feeling
